Game1 Ambassador Program - Internal Proposal¶
Source: Document uploaded by Shane (2026-02-12)
Objective¶
Scalable, performance-based growth channel driven by credible soccer voices. Ambassadors are trusted connectors, not traditional sales reps.
Goals: - Reduce CAC through warm introductions - Expand geographically without heavy fixed costs - Preserve brand credibility - Create aligned upside for performers
Pilot Regions¶
- Southern California
- New York (high level) -- Andrea?
- Texas
- Florida
NOT needed: Northern California or New York (already covered internally)
Scale: 1-2 ambassadors per region, 3-6 total. Emphasis on relationship depth, not volume.
Ideal Ambassador Profile¶
- Played at high level (D1, professional, elite academy, international)
- Intelligent, curious, coachable
- Align with Game1 non-negotiables: love to win, love soccer, not a jerk
- Understand player development, pathways, club ecosystems
- Well-connected in youth clubs, private training, camps, or college soccer
- Motivated by long-term opportunity, not short-term payouts
Role & Responsibilities¶
Ambassadors do: - Warm introductions to clubs, trainers, camps, orgs - Establish trust and context in early conversations - Support organizing combines/testing days/pilots - Provide field feedback on messaging and product fit
Ambassadors do NOT: - Final negotiations, contracting, pricing decisions - All report to BD team
Game1 provides: - Messaging and talking points, sales materials/decks - Defined pricing and partnership frameworks - Founder/core team involvement when needed
Compensation¶
- 5% commission (does NOT come out of Shane's 20%)
- Shane fully owns deal strategy and closing
- Combine payout: $250 per event
- Optional upsell opportunities (e.g., 1:1 training) separate from core sales
- Percentages finalized before launch, structure is fixed and transparent
Natural Incentives¶
- Exposure through combines, testing environments, development conversations
- Ambassadors gain natural access to motivated players and families
- Game1 does NOT sell player contact info or assign clients
- Private training relationships develop organically and independently
Time Commitment¶
- No significant weekly hours
- Leverage existing relationships and credibility
- No rigid schedules or quotas -- performance determines upside
- Weekly or bi-weekly check-ins with BD team
Pitch to Ambassadors¶
"We're building a serious, data-driven player development platform already being used by real clubs. We're looking for a small, selective group of former high-level players to help us expand into key regions through trusted introductions."
"This isn't about cold sales. It's about leveraging your credibility, staying embedded in elite soccer environments, and helping build something meaningful early -- with real upside if it works."
Pilot Success Criteria¶
Ambassador-level: Multiple warm intros to credible clubs, 1-2 serious conversations progressing toward pilots/combines
Region-level: Intros to multiple clubs per region, 1-2 combines or pilots activated
Program-level: Answer these questions: - Does this meaningfully reduce CAC? - Are ambassadors opening better doors than cold outreach? - Is operational load manageable? - Should this scale to additional regions?
If yes: scale. If not: adjust or shut down early.
