Warm Club Outreach Template

Use for clubs where Shane has personal connections (Mustang, De Anza Force, etc.)

Best send time: Tuesday to Thursday, 9 to 11 AM recipient's local time

Subject: Quick idea for [Club Name]'s player development

Hey [Coach/Director Name],

[PERSONALIZATION: reference your shared connection, like "I played at Mustang back in the day," a recent result you saw, a mutual person, etc.]

I've been working with Game1. They run standardized player development testing (speed, agility, technical, game impact) but the key difference is the model accounts for biological age and growth curves. Instead of just grading where a kid is today, it projects their trajectory.

Coaches get real data to complement what they already see. Would you be open to 15 minutes to see if it's a fit?

Best, Shane de Flores Stanford '25, San Jose Earthquakes II

Follow-Up Sequence

Day 3 to 4 (email): Hey [Name], following up. Here's a [sample player report] so you can see what the output looks like. Happy to walk through it whenever works.

Day 7 to 8 (different channel: text, LinkedIn, DM): Hey [Name], it's Shane. Sent you an email about Game1's player testing and wanted to ping you here too. No rush, just think [Club Name] would get a lot out of it.

Day 14 (email): Hey [Name], one more idea: happy to run a free pilot session for one age group so your coaches can see the data live. Zero commitment. Let me know.

Day 21 (final email): [Name], last note on this. Totally understand if timing's off. Door's always open if player development data becomes a priority down the road.

Multi-Channel Notes

  • Warm connections: text or DM is fine earlier in the sequence
  • If they're active on social, engage with club posts before/during outreach
  • Mutual contacts: ask for a warm intro or mention them ("Coach X suggested I reach out")
