Pricing Strategy Suggestions¶
General Thinking¶
Right now everything is in discovery mode, which makes sense for this stage. The free trial approach is smart because it removes friction and lets the product sell itself. Below are some thoughts on structuring pricing once you're ready to start charging.
Club Pricing¶
Consider a tiered model based on club size: - Small clubs (under 200 players): lower annual fee, maybe $2,000 to $5,000/year - Mid clubs (200 to 500 players): $5,000 to $10,000/year - Large clubs (500+ players): $10,000 to $20,000/year
The per player tack on model is also worth testing. Something like $20 to $50 per player per year added to existing fees. This makes it easier for clubs to absorb since parents are already paying.
College Pricing¶
Per ID camp pricing is simpler to start with because it requires less commitment. A yearly access deal is a bigger ask but better long term revenue. Consider offering both and letting the college choose.
Suggested starting range: $1,000 to $3,000 per ID camp, or $5,000 to $15,000 annually depending on camp volume.
Private Trainer Pricing¶
The upcharge model is clean. Trainer adds $30 to $75 per player per session on top of their normal rate. Game1 keeps that. The trainer's incentive is that the data makes their training more valuable and justifies higher pricing overall.
Discounts for Big Names¶
This is a solid strategy. Just make sure to formalize it. Suggestions: - Cap the discount (e.g., 50% off first year only) - Require something in return (logo usage rights, testimonial, case study, social media post) - Put it in writing so expectations are clear on both sides
Ambassador Pricing¶
For the fixed fee, consider benchmarking against what it would cost to hire a part time event coordinator in that region. Probably $300 to $800 per event depending on market and event size.
One Key Principle¶
Anchor pricing to value delivered, not cost. The question isn't "what does it cost Game1 to run a test?" It's "what is a personalized development profile worth to a parent or club?" That number is much higher.
